Privacy Policy – Vestigia
1. Overview
Vestigia helps users record and manage metal-detecting finds, including photos, GPS location, notes, tags, groups, zones, and exports.
We designed the app to primarily store data on your device. Please read this policy to understand what data is handled and how.
2. Data We Handle
The app may process the following data you provide or generate:
- Find data: ID, notes, status (Draft/Ready/Exported), tags, group, timestamps
- Photos: images captured with camera or selected from device files
- Location data: GPS coordinates and accuracy values for finds/photos
- Zone data: polygon coordinates, zone name, description, tags, group, area
- Export data: generated PDF and ZIP files containing your selected finds/zones and related media
3. Permissions
Depending on feature usage, the app may request:
- Camera (to capture photos)
- Location (to obtain GPS coordinates/accuracy)
- File/Media access (to select existing photos and to save/share exported files)
Permissions are used only for the related app features.
4. How Data Is Stored
- App data is stored locally on your device.
- Imported or captured images may be copied into app-local storage for reliable use.
- Export files are created locally and only shared when you explicitly choose to save or share them.
5. Data Sharing
The app does not automatically share your data with third parties.
Data is shared only when you explicitly initiate an action, such as:
- sharing an export via your device share sheet (e.g., email, messaging apps),
- saving/exporting files to external locations you choose.
6. Network Use
The app may load map tiles (OpenStreetMap-based map display) to render maps. When map tiles are requested, your device may contact map tile servers and transmit standard request metadata (such as IP address and requested tile coordinates), as with normal map usage.
7. Children’s Privacy
This app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
8. Data Retention and Deletion
You control your data in the app. You can edit or delete finds/zones/images and remove exported files from your device at any time.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to reduce risk, but no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Updates will be posted at the same URL with a revised effective date.
